Tucked
in the hills of Carmignano, in the centre of the
district made up of Florence-Vinci-Siena-San
Gimignano-Volterra , is the lovely Bacchereto farm
owned by the Bencini Tesi family which opened its
doors to guests several years ago as a sideline to
its wine production business.
The
Bencini Tesi family make outstanding wines and also
run a fine agriturismo complex that includes the
Cantina di Toia restaurant (cited in the
Veronelli guide), in town within a stone
building once home to Leonardo da Vinci’s
grandmother!
We
produce quality wines, honey and
extravirgin olive oil: we have vineyards that
people can see and visit, and around our houses on
hour hills there are wherever olive trees. Guests
are welcome to visit the wine cellar, where the
famous wines from Carmignano are produced and
the “orciaia”, where the extra-virgin olive oil,
produced in November, keeps his authentic
flavour.

Every apartment has its own private entrance and a
private outdoor area. The furbishing has been
made in the old tuscan farmhouse style with stone
floors and wood beamed ceilings: all apartments have
a fireplace in the living room or in the
kitchen. The furniture is simple and essential and
the guests will experience the old country life,
though enjoying all comforts. The apartments can
accommodate from 2 to 10 people according to the
